What can I eat when on a low purine diet?


Did Doctor tell you why you should avoid purines? Dr. Richard Johnson at U of Colorado has been doing breakthrough research on uric acid. He has found a direct correlation between uric acid concentration and blood pressure. Uric acid is a byproduct of purines.

Short answer. The main sources of uric acid are sugar, (fructose), meat, beer, beans and lentils. Dr. Johnson has a video where he explains the effects of high uric acid. Link below.

You don't have to avoid those things completely, but be judicious in their use. All other foods are OK.
